4 months later

So how was camp you ask?AMAZING! It was the most amazing and wonderful and hard and frustrating and rewarding experience of my life so far!
I worked with an incredible staff! There were 11 of us that were full time, 9 paid
and 2 volunteer, and many part time volunteers.
After years of not connecting with the staff I am so happy to say that we bonded like crazy! We really worked as a team, which is something I am so proud of.
So I have been trying to think of the most memorable moments all summer to share with you. Not in any particular order
1. Staff Training: Meeting the people I would be working with for the next 7 weeks. The many games that made us want to hug each other/strangle each other/laugh and cry!
2. Jr Boys: 56 9-11 age year old boys. Do I need to say more? Horrible and amazing all at the same time.
3. Watching the staff skit at Teen Camp. Seeing Mud howl at the moon and Super!'s amazing bail.

4. Pick Up Line Night in the Cabin Star Wars! "You look cold. Eccl 4:11"
5. All of the other awesome times! Including the week Blitz's mom was head cook!

Thank you to all of the prayers and support I received from my friends and family!

Today...

Today has been an interesting day.
It started out with a bang...quite literally...as I was falling asleep we were "woken up" by fireworks.  They were pretty and reflecting light on the lake.  I was a good photographer and didn't think to grab my camera until they were almost done, so I only got 2 not so nice pictures.

The "we" would be me and my "big sister" Meghan.  She came in for a wedding in town, and I offered her a bed for the weekend in exchange for hanging out with me :)  It was great to catch up with her and have some good quality girl time complete with junk food, Dad's rootbeer and Oreo's this morning!

We went for brunch this morning in Houston where we ended up seeing the bride across the parking lot. Although, in a way I was slightly saddened by the nostalgia, I am also incredibly happy for the two of them!  Seeing people in love is and always will be a "peak" in my life.

Meghan needed to come back and "get pretty" so after she got dressed, I took her down to the lake to get some pictures of her.  This shoot also ended up in a "Modeling 101" course that resulted in a lot of laughter. And also reminded me of several summers of "modeling" down the docks at camp as a much younger girl :)

I am excited for today to come to a close. Why? Because then it will mean that Elise is here, and that camp will officially begin as Staff Training starts tomorrow.   I have been planning for this summer for months, and would just like to start already! :) I mean, who wants to wait to play "pudding twister" and "Mission Impossible" and sing camp songs!? You do? Well then it's a good thing I'm here this summer and not you! :) Because I am beyond excited!

Enjoying NBC... Northern BC that is

It is absolutely amazing to me how beautiful it up here.  I would not have traded in my childhood growing up in Northern BC for anything! It gives one a different perspective on the world.  I know that I love living in the city, or near it, and the convenience and SHOPPING there is, but the beauty that there is up here is astounding. I just sat and played guitar for over an hour while looking out over the lake.  It absolutely POURED rain for about 5 minutes, and the steam off the lake with the incredible rain was beautiful.  The rain has now stopped, and the birds are singing. Apparently we just needed a little watering.
